If you want to start a private school, it is mandatory for teachers to qualify for Teachers Eligibility Test (TET). The Telangana School of Education has taken a decision on this. TET is also mandatory for school teachers according to the Education Act. Already in Government Schools its implemented from 2011 academic year. TET qualified candidates are only eligible for DSC. This provision is not yet implemented in private schools.
According to official statistics, there are 4,500 people who are without D.Ed and B.Ed qualification. In fact, this figure is estimated to be 50 thousand. Central has ordered these 4,500 members must complete D.Ed or B.Ed by March 31st, 2017.
It is estimated that there are more than 1.5 lakhs candidates who passed Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in the Telangana state. With this situation The school education department commissioner has ordered, all the private schools who want permission should appoint only TET qualified teachers in their schools. Authorities have been informed about the terms of the application for permission to start schools recently.
Education Commissioner G Kishan said, This provision was from time immemorial, so there was no need for new orders. From now on, new schools will be given permission only on appointing TET qualified teachers in their respective schools. Schools have to submit complete details of candidates like in which year they qualified, obtained marks etc. Then only permission will be granted for schools.
